How
do Viagra and Cialis work?
The men who first used sildenfal (the drug now known as Viagra) were not
looking for a cure to erectile dysfunction. However, for some, a cure literally
fell into their laps. That’s because sildenfal was original developed
as drug to combat hypertension, or low blood pressure, in men and women.
After it was put into use, many of the male users experienced a very strange
side effect.
Consistently, throughout a typical day, they would achieve firm
and vigorous erections. This even occurred to men who suffered from impotence.
It was then that scientists realized that they had come up with a cure
for impotence – without even trying! First released to the market under
the brand name Viagra, sildenfal was closely followed by its competitor brand
Cialis. Both drugs act in very similar ways to relieve a man of his erectile
dysfunction. In order to understand how it works, it is very important to
understand what Viagra and Cialis do not do.
Contrary to what many believe,
these drugs are not mood enhancing, aphrodisiacal magic potion pills.
Rather, they provide a measured effect on the chemistry in the man’s body to
further promote the possibility of a successful erection. During the normal
erection cycle, various chemicals set off chain reactions which prompt blood
flow into the penis in a series of stages. Viagra and Cialis promote the
nitrogen chemical, vital for bringing the blood to the starting line.
The
true sprint, however, comes in the form of a very useful chemical.
It is this one that brings about the massive influx of blood, delivering
a rock
hard erection to the man. Another important chemical to note here is
the one that breaks down the cannonball launcher, and brings the penis back
to
limpness. It is this chemical that Viagra and Cialis attack, and thus
help restore rigidity to otherwise flaccid men. |
