Can
anyone take Viagra or Cialis?
Drugs like Viagra and Cialis have gained great fame by their seemingly miraculous
ability to rid a man of his erectile dysfunction. But while men from all
over flock to the drugstore counters in droves, many should be cautioned
that Viagra and Cialis might not be the medications for them. That’s
because users with certain additional medical conditions, or users who also
take other kinds of medication, are highly likely to experience negative
side effects that could lead to serious complications.
First of all, it should
be noted that men who are undergoing drug therapy with any medication that
contains nitrates should steer clear of Viagra and Cialis. The reason for
this is that Viagra and Cialis work by stimulating the production of nitrogen
in the body, and thereby decreasing blood pressure. (Viagra was first discovered
by accident, as an anti-hypertension drug). Because the compound effect
of the drugs, the reduction in a man’s blood pressure could drop to a
dangerously low level, and possibly even cause death. But there are others
as well who should not take Viagra or Cialis.
These men include those who
experience adverse reactions to the medication. Some common side effects
include nausea, headaches, facial flushing, blue vision (with Viagra)
and Angina. If a Viagra or Cialis user experiences any of these symptoms,
he
should discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Another demographic
of men who should mostly stay off the Viagra or Cialis is the perfectly
healthy youngsters.
Using Viagra in conjunction with, and in order to combat
the
temporary impotence created by heavy drinking illicit drug use is not
a good idea. The increased sexual potency during periods of inhibited judgment
leads
to a dire recipe for the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. Other
people who should not use Viagra or Cialis include women and children. |
